Downhill Biking

Summer at Apex Mountain Resort takes visitors to a whole new level. Grab your mountain bike and enjoy the ride down one of the numerous single track trails. If downhilling isn't your style, try one of the cross country trails through the forest. It's riding at its best. If mountain biking is not your style, grab your fishing rod and find out what the locals don't want you to find ! Excellent quadding and dirt biking trails to explore.

Apex Whitetail Chalet is an excellent facility to accommodate athletes for in/out of season sports. Come and see why out Alberta's finest soccer teams, Canadian National Aerial Team, and the Canadian National Speed Skating Teams call this home and the benefits of "high altitude" training at 5500 ft in elevation !

Hiking

The mountains surrounding the village provide numerous day trips right from the front door of Apex Whitetail Chalet. Talk to your hosts and discover the best areas for spring flowers and views of the local mountain ranges. The scenery is stunning.

Nickle Plate Lake

If tranquility is what you are after, try a peaceful paddle on Nickle Plate Lake only 5 km from Apex Whitetail Chalet. Power boats are not permitted on the lake. Don't forget to bring your fishing rod!

Wild Flowers

The open meadows of Apex, Beaconsfield, and Riordan mountains are famous for their wild flowers. A short hike from the chalet will bring you to open fields of stunning variety and colour.
